Interim President Assures No Staff Cuts

In an opinion piece published in the Vancouver Sun on August, 30, 2015, Dr. Martha Piper says “There will be no staff cuts or service disruptions as a result of the change in presidents; that I can also assure.”

VP Finance Simpson says costs won’t result in staff cuts

In a recent article published in the Vancouver Sun online, Andrew Simpson, UBC Vice President, Finance, is reported as saying that “the university has contingency funds to cover Gupta’s departure and the hiring of a new president, so any costs won’t result in staff cuts.”

Attention UBC Managers: Collective Agreement Change Sessions

HR’s Employee Relations team will be holding sessions in August regarding changes made to the Collective Agreements for CUPE 116 and CUPE 2950.

These presentations will provide managers and directors with an understanding of all the new changes to the collective agreements, as well as an opportunity for a question and answer time with the Employee Relations Managers.
