Attention Transit Users!—UBC Bus Loop Renovation

The UBC Bus Loop is changing in July 2014 due to construction of the new UBC Aquatic Centre starting on MacInnes Field.

Pedestrian and cyclist access to the bus loop will be restricted starting in July. 

The bus loop transformation is part of UBC’s long term plan to revitalize the social heart of the Vancouver campus which includes the new and existing SUB, Alumni Centre, Aquatic Centre, MacInnes Field, Gage South student housing and surrounding outdoor spaces.

2014 Collective Bargaining Update #2

Dear Members,

I want to provide you with a brief update on collective bargaining.

AAPS and UBC began bargaining on June 11. The parties have a number of dates scheduled for bargaining in July. Unfortunately the University is unavailable for bargaining this summer after July 21. AAPS Summer Pub Night & Networking Event, July 16

Since we had so much fun last time, the AAPS Board and the Member Engagement Committee would like to invite you to the AAPS Summer Pub Night and Networking Event on Wednesday July 16, 2014 at the Point Grill and courtyard. 2014 Workplace Engagement Survey for AAPS Members—Survey Summary Report

In February of 2014 AAPS conducted a Workplace Engagement Survey of its members to get a better understanding of their workplace experience. 45% of AAPS members responded to this survey and the results were presented by the survey provider Ipsos Reid at the AAPS Spring General Meeting on April 30, 2014.

The AAPS Board wishes to thank the members for their time in completing this survey. The responses will be used to inform AAPS’ strategic initiatives.

Prevention of Bullying & Harassment in the Workplace

On May 20, 2014, UBC sent out an email to all faculty, staff, and student employees at UBC’s Vancouver campus regarding new legislative requirements to prevent and reduce bullying and harassment in the workplace.
