UBC's Reponse to the Equity Task Force

Background

Following the intense community response to a number of sexist and racist chants heard during student-led September FROSH events on the Vancouver campus, Professor Stephen J. Toope convened a Task Force to develop actionable recommendations to address issues of gender-based violence and Aboriginal stereotypes. Read more about UBC's Reponse to the Equity Task Force

Volunteer for the Special Olympics!

This summer, UBC will host the Special Olympics Canada 2014 Summer Games (http://vancouver2014.ubc.ca) at its Vancouver campus, July 8 to 12, 2014. Special Olympics is the world’s largest sports organization for people with intellectual disabilities. For one week in July, UBC student residences will be transformed into an Athletes Village, and the campus’ athletic facilities will host eight of the 11 sporting events as well as the opening and closing ceremonies.
