Strike Protocol Update

Dear Members,

As you know, CUPE 116 has been in a legal strike position since October 3 and has been engaging in a series of job actions. While the job actions have been targeted and limited, the job action is starting to affect the basic operations of the University.  Under the “Global Order” UBC obtained at the Labour Board they can compel AAPS members to do CUPE 116 work deemed necessary to keep the University functioning.

This is your notice of the AAPS Annual General Meeting which will be held on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. The meeting is being held in the Ponderosa Centre - Arbutus Room on the Point Grey Campus. Click here for location map. Just a reminder that UBC has agreed, as a condition of your employment, that it is your right to attend the full meeting from 1200 to 1400. M&P Fund Update

The M&P Professional Development Fund is now accepting applications for the Oct. 1 – Dec. 31, 2012, period. Applications will be accepted until the Dec 31 deadline date or the exhaustion of the 3rd quarter allocation.

Strike Protocol

Dear Members,

CUPE 116 is currently in a legal strike position and has provided 72 hours’ strike notice to the University, meaning they can legally strike as early as Thursday October 4. Please note that at this time it is anticipated that any strike action would be limited to the Point Grey campus. Read more about Strike Protocol
