IUOE 882 Strike Update: UBC Operating Engineers Serve Notice


The UBC Operating Engineers (IUOE 882) have served strike notice to the University and will be in a position to strike on Monday, September 18th, 7:00am.

UBC Operating Engineers Strike Vote—What AAPS members need to know

Dear AAPS Members,

The Operating Engineers (IUOE 882) took at strike vote on Thursday, September 7, 2017. They received a 100% mandate for a strike and will be in a legal strike position late Sunday or Monday morning.

2017 Performance-Based Merit Pay Program Information


On August 3rd, 2017 UBC HR released a memo regarding the 2017 Performance-Based Merit Pay Program. The memo was sent to Deans, directors, managers and heads of academic and administrative units at both Vancouver and Okanagan Campuses.

It has come to our attention that a number of members who have held positions with UBC, prior to transferring into AAPS, have had their vacation calculated incorrectly.

If you are an AAPS member that has had continuous service as an employee of UBC, but not solely as an AAPS member, please review this memo carefully and then contact the AAPS Office if you have any additional questions.
