Here is the line-up of this year’s events

We have three fantastic workshops scheduled at UBC Farm:

Edible and Medicinal Plant Walks
Tuesday June 5, 2018
Friday June 8, 2018
4:30pm-6:00pm

Join a guided tour presenting proper identification and uses of numerous plants growing at UBC Farm. An easy stroll will lead to identification of wild plants, which parts are edible and which parts are medicinal. See and taste some commonly grown garden herbs and learn how they can be applied for medicinal usage. Wear comfortable footwear and dress for the weather. This session will be led by Sarah Orlowski. Sarah is a Master Herbalist, artist and also has her Permaculture Design Certificate.

Vertical Gardening for Beginners
Tuesday June 26, 2018
4:30pm-6:00pm

As Vancouver densifies and large gardens become scarce, vertical surfaces can be used for gardening. In this workshop we will explore what living walls and green facades are, and the systems used to implement them. We will discuss the principles of setting up a successful vertical garden in common locations such as fences, walls or patio banisters, and the plants that are most suitable. This session will be led by Yael Stav. Yael is a sustainable design professional, with expertise in vertical vegetation and urban agriculture, from Israel, Australia and Canada. Her PhD work focused on designing sustainable vertical gardens.

We will be returning to Biercraft in Wesbrook Village for another Craft Beer Appreciation Series:

Wednesday June 6, 2018
Wednesday June 20, 2018
Wednesday June 27, 2018

Get ready for summertime beers. Biercraft’s Benjamin Fredrickson has put together a summer beer flight and food pairing menu. You will try four small tasters of different kinds of beer and learn to appreciate their different qualities as well as some of the history or lore around each beer.

Thursday, June 14, 2018
