Series Summary

The Financial Wellness Series is designed to help you create a healthy relationship with your money. Based on her extensive work educating people about their money, popular AAPS facilitator and financial planner Tracy Theemes will take you through a five step planning process that can assist you in dealing with debt and gaining control of your personal finances. Knowledge is power—you can be on your way to achieving financial wellness!

Starting Tuesday, May 3, this series of lunch and learns will run weekly until May 31, 2016. We strongly encourage you to register for the full series or try to attend as many sessions as possible.

Audience

This program designed for AAPS members who are interested in learning about Tracy’s five step approach to developing a healthy and functional relationship with their money. About your Facilitator

Tracy Theemes, Financial Advisor, MA, CFP, FCSI, FDS, is Co-Founder of Sophia Financial Group. Prior to co-founding Sophia Financial Group in 2009, Tracy worked as a financial consultant with Smith Barney, a US brokerage firm and after returning to Canada was an advisor with a large bank owned investment firm. Sophia Financial Group is a full service investment advisory and financial planning firm in Vancouver BC with a special expertise in the economic issues facing women investors.

Tracy Theemes has a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology. She is a Certified Financial Planner, is insurance licensed and is a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute. She is also a Financial Divorce Specialist. Before becoming a financial advisor Tracy spent 10 years in management with an international play equipment company.  She authored a book on outdoor play for children and travelled extensively in her role as head of the North American R & D department advocating for the needs of children in outdoor urban environments. She founded, then sold, a specialty children’s furnishing company based in the US. 

Tracy was recently nominated for the YWCA Women of Distinction award for Education and the Association for Women in Finance award for Excellence in Business. She was just awarded the 2014 International Alliance of Women Global 100 Award for her work in empowering women economically. Her book The Financially Empowered Woman: Everything You Want to Know about Your Money was recently published and won the Bronze prize for the Living Now awards in finance and economics and the Axiom Gold medal in the category of personal finance.
