BOG Ratifies the new Collective Agreement

The Collective Agreement was ratified by the UBC Board of Governors at their December 2, 2014 meeting.

Results of Member Ratification Vote on AAPS Collective Agreement

The results of the member vote to ratify the latest Collective Agreement between AAPS and UBC are as follows:

920   In Favour

161   Opposed

1081   Total Votes

The University will now forward the tentative agreement to the Board of Governors for final ratification.

Vote on Ratification of 2014 Tentative Collective Agreement

Remembrance Day

Successful Settlement Reached in Important Grievance

This complex case began in April 2013, when UBC compelled an employee with 24 years of service to sign away their entitlement to notice (i.e. severance or working notice) upon termination, in exchange for $5. The so called “$5 deals” the University started making with our members in 2012, were deeply offensive to AAPS and caused considerable damage to an already frayed relationship. 2014 Collective Bargaining Update #4—Tentative Collective Agreement

The AAPS bargaining committee is pleased to announce that after intensive mediation this weekend with Mediator Irene Holden, AAPS and UBC have reached a tentative Collective Agreement. The AAPS bargaining team would like to thank Ms. Holden for her assistance in helping the parties reach an agreement. The bargaining committee recommends ratification of the deal.
