2020 Spring General Meeting

The AAPS Board of Directors is pleased to invite you to RSVP for the 2020 Spring General Meeting.

The meeting will be held on Friday, June 26, 2020 from 10:30am – 11:30am and will be captioned and recorded. A link to the recording will be available by request.

We encourage all members who are available to attend the AAPS Spring General Meeting.

If you missed the meeting, please contact the office to access the recording.

We will be hosting this meeting on the Zoom webinar platform and there will be opportunities to type questions using the chat and Q&A features.

You will have the opportunity to hear an overview of the collective bargaining process, get a short review of the 2019 Tentative Collective Agreement, and vote on the AAPS budget. (For a detailed presentation on the new Agreement, please register for one of our info sessions.)

We will also be providing an advocacy update and talking about the impacts and changes related to COVID-19.

3. Approval of the Minutes of the April 17, 2019 meeting* (review the 2019 AAPS Spring General Meeting Minutes)

4. Bargaining and Tentative Agreement Overview

  • An overview of the collective bargaining process
  • Significant proposed changes to the Collective Agreement
  • Next steps for ratification of the Tentative Collective Agreement

5. 2020/2021 AAPS Budget Presentation and Voting:

6. COVID-19 and Advocacy Updates

  • Representation and support during the pandemic
  • COVID-19 and your Collective Agreement

*Motions and Voting on the Zoom platform

As we will be hosting the Spring General Meeting on the Zoom webinar platform, we will be using the polling feature for voting.

  1. The speaker will read and move the motion
  2. The speaker will ask that a member second the motion in Zoom Chat by typing "I second the motion"
  3. The speaker will ask if there is any discussion on the motion as presented
  4. A poll will be posted, and members will have the opportunity to vote "yes” or "no"
  5. A motion will be passed with a majority "yes" vote of the members present and voting

#1 “Be it resolved to accept the agenda for the 2020 AAPS Spring General Meeting as presented.”

#2 “Be it resolved to approve the minutes of the 2019 AAPS Spring General Meeting as distributed.”

#3 “Be it resolved that the 2020/2021 AAPS Budget be adopted as presented.”

#4 “Be it resolved to appoint the firm of De Visser Gray LLP Chartered Accountants as the Association's auditors for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2020.”
