Program Summary

Stress is part of most professional’s lives. Balancing the pressures of personal and work commitments and responsibilities is arguably more challenging than ever before. In this entertaining and insightful presentation, audiences learn about their own “triggers” for stress and about how they respond to it. Drawing on psychological research and humourous videos, in 2 hours participants learn usable and effective skills for much needed stress-management and leave with practical ideas to apply in their daily lives.

What You Will Learn:

  • Identify and understand the triggers and effects of stress
  • Develop awareness of the effects and role of conflict styles in and out of the workplace
  • Practical skills to effectively manage stress
  • Tools and strategies to successfully approach personal and work life

Audience

This session is designed for all AAPS members who are looking to develop a better understanding of their own reactions to stress and their ability to manage it: professionals who deal with stress and pressure in their work and personal lives who want to more effectively control their reaction to external forces and learn to effect change where they can.

About Your Facilitator

Adam Rollins is a consultant at The Neutral Zone, Coaching & Consulting Services Inc. He works as a mediator, trainer, coach, and clinical counsellor to support individuals and teams to achieve both their professional and personal ambitions. Having worked with both youth and adults in clinical and workplace settings, he brings contagious energy and creativity to all projects.  Adam works extensively with not-for-profits agencies to provide Health Services and support to the community and has a keen appreciation for both mental and physical well-being.

Adam holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and English Literature and a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia. Adam obtained his Certificate of Conflict Resolution at the Justice Institute of BC with a specialization in third-party mediation. Combining theory with experience managing conflict and providing psychological support, Adam is versatile in his abilities as a leader and educator.

Adam is also an established online editorial-writer and a television commentator. He brings insight, humour, and skill to resolving issues between people and supporting those seeking to better their current situation.
