National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

September 30 has been designated the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation by the federal government.

For 2021, September 30 will be recognized as a paid holiday for all employees who are normally entitled to provincial and federal holidays.  Thus for 2021, Thursday, September 30 will be a paid holiday for all AAPS members and treated like a stat holiday.

Please note that this measure is in place for 2021 only as Indigenous communities and the Province will determine the most appropriate way to acknowledge this day on an ongoing basis.

The AAPS Office will be closed on Thursday, September 30, 2021.

We encourage all members to review the Indian Residential School History and Dialogue Centre and the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation for helpful educational resources to honour this day.
