Pink Shirt Day: Let’s End Bullying

On February 26 many people across Canada are participating in Pink Shirt Day to help end bullying and cyberbullying in our communities.

While Pink Shirt Day is often focused on children and schools, it is important to remember that bullying and bullying-type behaviours have negative impacts on professionals and the workplace as well.

Bullying and bullying-type behaviours can sometimes show up in subtle ways such as small repetitive behaviours over time, constant criticism, manipulation, exclusion, or isolation.

Pink Shirt Day provides us all with an opportunity to reflect on ourselves and consider how we can contribute to more inclusive and productive workplaces.

If you have questions or think you may have experienced bullying, harassment, or discrimination, please contact the AAPS Office for a confidential conversation.

While most bullying actions are not illegal, it does create challenging workplace situations. There are a number of resources, along with support from AAPS, that can help.
