World Mental Health Day

October 10th marks World Mental Health Day.

“World Mental Health Day is observed on 10 October every year, with the overall objective of raising awareness of mental health issues around the world and mobilizing efforts in support of mental health.”

It’s a good opportunity to pause and reflect on your own mental health and the health of those around you. As students come up to mid-terms and the add/drop deadline, make sure that you have the support that you need, to give students the support that they need.

Canada has a National Standard of Canada for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace.

AAPS provides members with confidential advice and support on mental health issues in the workplace. If you’re experiencing mental health challenges and would like to know your rights/options as an employee, have bullying/harassment concerns, questions about hours of work/workload, or any other concerns about how your work environment is impacting your mental health, please contact the AAPS Office for an appointment.
