Point Grey Campus + Webcast
Liu Institute for Global Issues, Multipurpose Room
Part of the AAPS Institutional Knowledge Series

Program Summary

Integrating environmental, social and governance considerations in investment decision making is a major trend in Canada and around the world. Increasingly there is acceptance that this approach offers opportunities for both portfolio risk mitigation and value creation as well as values alignment between investors and their investments strategies.

Terms like responsible investing, divestment, and impact investing are frequently cited, but what exactly do they mean? How do they differ? How might they overlap? To what extent are these approaches already being used by investors? Could these be options for your own portfolios?

This session will cover responsible investing terminology and definitions, an industry overview, an outline of the types of environmental, social and governance issues that responsible investors are concerned about, as well as the strategies they use to address them.

This sesession is for general information purposes and is not intended to provide personalized legal, investment or tax advice.
