Program Summary

Change in our workplaces can be unsettling and challenging. And, we know that new co-workers, new managers, new demands, and new expectations are a reality of our work environment. Way back in 500 BC, Greek Philosopher Heraclitus said, “Change is the only constant in life.”  Certainly, work life in the twenty-first century suggests that change only gets faster and more complicated.

Using best practices in Change Management through the Making Change Work Insights model, participants will analyze their current work situations and teams, using the powerful language and learning of a simple, four-quadrant colour model. Participants will explore what changes they can make to their own communications style and approach to create more positive outcomes to situations.

You will learn

  • Perception – how my way of looking at the change may be undermining my ability to be effective in the situation
  • Understanding self -  how I experience changes in my work environment; how I can flourish in a changing environment
  • Understanding others – why others may have a different experience in change than I
  • Team skills – the process of intention-action-impact
  • Helping your manager know what you need – a positive approach to differing expectations

Your Facilitator

Shauna Grinke, MBA

Shauna is a Senior Consultant with over 20 years of experience in coaching individuals to develop into their highest self.  Her expertise includes organizational effectiveness and change, leadership development and coaching, succession planning, strategic planning, and employee engagement. She is described by her clients as “energetic, results-driven, and creative”, with an ability to “develop and implement people solutions that create business results.” Her coaching clients describe her as “astute, inspiring, and motivating.” Her employees have described her as ‘the best boss ever!’

Currently working with a diverse range of clients— from forest research to the hospitality industry, and from educational facilities to sales organizations— Shauna is passionate about working with leaders and teams to help them maximize their effectiveness. Over Shauna’s corporate and consulting career, she has developed a practical approach and expertise in leadership development and team effectiveness. She has ‘real life’ experience, in that she has not only coached others to develop their teams in times of change; she has developed her own high-performance teams. 

With a personal belief in life-long learning, Shauna has recently completed her MBA (with a specialization in Human Resource Management) from Royal Roads University. She was honoured with both the Chancellor’s Award for outstanding Academic Achievement and the Founder’s Award for Leadership, Dedication and Sustainability. She is a certified coach through the Center for Creative Leadership.
