Program Summary

Clear, concise, effective communication skills are some of the most valuable assets in the modern workplace.

  • Have you ever had challenges communicating your ideas to your colleagues or leadership team?
  • Have you ever thought you made a great presentation, but then nobody “bought in”?
  • Have you ever felt pressure to make a convincing project pitch, but didn’t know where to start?

This session will give you an overview of best practices in storytelling, leadership language, persuasion, and presentation style. There will be time to develop and practice your own pitch.

Pre-work is required to be completed prior to the workshop

This session is designed for those members who have not had practice or formal training in giving presentations and pitches and are looking for an opportunity to develop their skill-set in this area. This session will be highly participatory with all registrants developing and practicing their own pitch as well as giving feedback to colleagues.

About Your Facilitator

Joanna is a senior consultant with Counterpoint Communications, where she conducts communications and media relations consulting. For 20+ years she has trained thousands of people how to become better communicators, and how to project themselves in the media spotlight and on the podium. Her clients have included BC Hydro, Tsawwassen First Nation, Methanex, Yukon Energy, Western Forest Products, Health Canada, RCMP and various fire departments across Canada. She is also an instructor with Sauder Executive Education.
