Collective Bargaining News

July 9, 2018

Collective Bargaining in the B.C. public sector has begun. On June 13th, the BCGEU announced that they had reached a tentative agreement with the Provincial Government. The BCGEU represents more than 27,000 members around the province and employees at the Okanagan Campus.

It is likely that we will begin bargaining with the University in the spring of 2019. We will continue to monitor the tentative agreements negotiated by other labour relations organizations during the year. That said, we will be focusing on your consultation responses and our ongoing advocacy work to set the priorities for our bargaining proposals.
