AAPS 2026 Spring General Meeting

The AAPS 2026 Spring General Meeting will be held on April 30, 2026, from 12pm to 2pm. 

The meeting will be hybrid with options for members to participate from the Point Grey Campus, Okanagan Campus, and VGH, as well as online. 

The Spring General Meeting is a great opportunity for you to hear from the AAPS Board and Staff about the initiatives we have been working on. You will also be voting on the AAPS budget. Lunch will be provided for those attending in person. 

We hope to see you all there. 

We will be discussing a number of items, including top advocacy issues, merit, and hybrid work arrangements. You will also be voting on the AAPS annual budget. The agenda and meeting documents are at the end of this email and available on our website.

Please Have Your Electronic Device with You at the Meeting

Given that our Spring General Meeting is held in a hybrid format, with both online and in-person attendance options, historically, the process of counting votes, seconding motions, and asking questions takes time, lacks precision, and is not equally distributed across all locations.

In order to bring all members in attendance into the process and conversation and have precise vote counts, we will be using Data on the Spot (DOTS) as our common voting, seconding, and Q&A platform.

Please be sure to bring your smartphone, tablet, or laptop to the meeting so you can have access the voting platform.

You will receive a confirmation email from DOTS with instructions to access their platform. Please test out the platform in advance of the meeting.

We will be hosting this year’s meeting in person at the following locations. You are welcome to attend the event at any location that is convenient for you.

If you plan to attend in person, please register by the RSVP date to help with catering arrangements. Due to the notice the caterers require, dietary restrictions, including allergies cannot be accommodated for registrations after the RSVP date.

Motions

  • Be it resolved to accept the agenda for the 2026 AAPS Spring General Meeting as presented.
  • Be it resolved to approve the minutes of the 2025 AAPS Annual General Meeting as distributed.
  • Be it resolved that the 2026/2027 AAPS Budget be adopted as presented.
  • Be it resolved to appoint the firm of De Visser Gray LLP Chartered Accountants as the Association's auditors for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026.

Tentative Agreement Information Sessions and Ratification Vote

AAPS and the University have reached a Tentative Agreement. We strongly encourage all members to register for a Tentative Agreement Information Session to learn the details of the proposed changes to the new agreement and ask questions. You can register for an in-person event, a Zoome event, or a link to the recording on our website. These sessions are devoted completely to the tentative agreement and provide the opportunity to go in-depth on the changes. We are only able to provide a short amount of time at the Spring General Meeting for the Tentative Agreement. The ratification vote will open Thursday, April 23, 2026 and close Thursday, May 7, 2026. All members will receive voting information the morning of Thursday, April 23rd.
