Program Summary

This highly participatory workshop is intended for leaders who wish to improve their ability to engage groups in reaching decisions that all understand and ideally support. We will explore a range of different approaches to decision making and together consider tools and processes as well as blocks to effective decision making.

You will be expected to bring your real-life challenges. Please consider an upcoming decision your team needs (or you would like them) to make.

This will be a hands-on, highly dialogue-based workshop. You will need to be able to participate with others and fully-commit to the half-day session.

Audience

This session is designed with the understanding that all the participants are managers, team or project leaders with team autonomy and decision-making authority.

This session is designed with the understanding that you have meeting design and facilitator experience. This session will be most helpful to members who have taken Introduction to Facilitation with Charles. Not sure if this session is right for you? You will learn how to:

  • re-frame challenging decisions
  • apply different decision-making frameworks

About Your Facilitator

Charles Holmes is a skilled facilitator and educator whose 25 years of experience has honed a passion for creating meaningful dialogue among groups whose diverse opinions would otherwise work against a common understanding of desired outcomes. Charles has facilitated projects with clients from health care to forestry and mining, software and pharmaceutical companies, educational institutions and utility firms, government, and not-for-profit sectors. The meetings he has designed and facilitated have focused on innovation, conflict resolution, community engagement, long range scenario planning and hundreds of strategic planning sessions and other team and group engagements. He has worked with multi-national corporations in many settings throughout North America, Mexico, Asia, Europe, and Saudi Arabia. Charles is also a co-founder of the Academy for Systemic Change, a collection of global thought-leaders committed to advancing the capacity for awareness-based systemic change worldwide. They are deeply involved in developing living examples of biological, social, spiritual and economic well-being.
