Message to Members Regarding Pause on Merit-based Salary Increases

Dear AAPS members,

We are aware of the announcement that the University is pausing merit-based salary increases for AAPS members, as well as other university staff groups, based on guidance from the Public Sector Employers’ Council (PSEC). PSEC has advised that all public sector employers refrain from providing merit-based salary increases until further notice.  Read more about Message to Members Regarding Pause on Merit-based Salary Increases

Change in Hybrid Work Arrangement – Provost & VP Academic Portfolio

Please note that the change described below only applies to members working in units under the Provost and VP Academic portfolio and not to members working in specific faculties. If you work for a specific faculty (for example, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Arts, etc.), then the change does not apply to you.

Support for Members Regarding Lawsuit Filed by UBC Professors and Former Graduate Student

We have been following the lawsuit filed by four UBC professors and a former graduate student in BC’s Supreme Court regarding perceived “political activity” on the part of the University, namely the University’s widely practiced land acknowledgements, as well as its equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) initiatives, and statements regarding Israel and Palestine.
